They will never understand how much I love them: Jacob Crouch speaks to the heart of every parent. “God has now given me five children, and with each new birth a strange thing happens. My love does not get divided into smaller parts and divvied up among them, but rather it gets multiplied over again, so that not only is there enough love to go around, but there is more love than I know how to express. And if I can’t find a way to adequately express it, how will they ever understand how much I love them?”
Jesus said more about hell than anyone in the Bible: Speaking of love, how do we square Jesus’ love with this hard truth? John Piper explains, “Therefore, give heed to Jesus’s clear command to fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Hear it as a great mercy. What a wonderful thing it is that Jesus warns us. He does not leave us ignorant of the wrath to come. He not only warns. He rescues.”
The list on the door: Andrea Sanborn asks us to consider eternity, “We all live in the shadow of death every day, unperceiving. Not knowing when the fire will come. If we accepted that reality, how would we plan for it?”
Which is the best position to sleep in? Claudia Hammond reports that, “sleeping on your side seems to have several advantages, but your precise posture can have an effect on neck and back pain – and the side you sleep on can increase or reduce acid reflux. Snoring increases if you sleep on your back, but we all vary so it could still be the way you sleep best.”
Nature inFocus photography festival winners: India’s annual photography festival has some amazing shots. The Lion, Marlin and the Sardine School might be my favorite. Land of Stripes is also amazing. You can click on the photos to make them full-size.
